Crap on croup!

Ugh, Lacie has croup again. well, it is better than swine flu, but still. Dr. E. says she is most likely getting that due to allergies and she will most likely get it again thru the winter months. Not a whole lot to do for it. It is not too bad, but when she does cough, Good Lord! she sounds so bad!

i knew it would happen eventually

Lacie has been battling the on and off cold. Blech!
let's see, she went about 6 months with no illness! so i guess i cant complain. but it started about 2 weeks ago when i got a call from daycare not too long after i dropped her off. yeah, Lacie was projectile vomitting. fabulous. *sigh* so i picked her up and hoped and prayed that she would not barf in my new car.... i had no interest in having the barf smell take over the new car smell. thankfully, she held it all in. so we got home, i covered the couch with sheets and towels and gave her some Sprite. 10 minutes later, she was running through the house, then stopped.....and hacked up the sprite. trying to catch barf from a toddler is no fun. thankfully, she barfed twice, and that was the end of it!
of course, the 24 hour rule kept her from daycare the next day. so she and i went visit Aunt Kelly at work then went to Paw Paws to get brother to come home.
well, now we are battling a really bad cough and cold. off to Dr. Elofson we go!

Mommy's heart is heavy this afternoon.

i happened to stumble across a blog today that has made me so sad. I don't know this person, but my heart hurts for her so much. I don't know the entire story, but her baby was born very very early and he did not survive. I can not even imagine going through something like that. i just can't. i would be a complete total mess if i lost my child. no parent should have to lose a child. i would probably be like Izzie on Grey's Anatomy when Denny died. i would be plastered to the floor and wouldn't have the strength to move for a while.

her blog also had a link to a video of someone else who went through the same thing. it was an 18 minute video, and it was like a letter to her baby. but her baby was born super early, and he lived for 26 days. the video was of their short journey.

well, by the end of the video, i was a teary eyed sobbing mess, sitting at my desk at work.

all i want to do now, is run to daycare and get Lacie and just hold her tighter than ever and hug and kiss her. i am so greatful to God that i have such a sweet wonderful rambunctious baby girl! and i cant for get my "baby" boy! who is almost 8! but, he is not a baby any more and is currently making his rounds this summer at all the grandparents' houses. i miss him, but i know he is in good hands and is making memories with the grandparents!

so, when you get home, hug those babies extra tight tonight and thank the good Lord for these prescious days as they go by fast.

more "she cans"

More things that she, she being Lacie, can do:

-whine and cry and throw fits.
-drink the water straight from the faucet in the bathtub. nice.
-fall off the couch head first and laugh about it
-drink tons of juice when she gets home
-blow bubbles by herself, even though half the time the stick from the bubbles gets in her mouth
- watch Dora Dora Dora the Explore for hours straight.
-climb down the front steps with her hands full
-climb into her carseat by herself
-open the refridgerator by herself!
-put the milk jug back on teh shelf, something she insists on doing.

Lacie is almost 2 and a HALF! she keeps me so busy! she is quite the talker. you can almost hold a 3 sentence conversation with her. not a whole lot going on these days, well, nothing out of the usual. Lacie is just growing up right before my eyes!

her current interests are: Mickey Mouse Clubhouse, Einsteins, Teletubbies and Dora the explorer.
she loves to eat: hamburger, corn, mashed potatoes, chips, cool whip, biscuits, eggs, GRITS
latest word/sayings: NOT NICE! I LOVE YOU! DADDY DID IT! or mommy.

she is already starting to pick out her own pajamas! ha! i put a gown on her tonight and she flipped out! she wanted the DOra one and ended up wearing strawberry ones. but she calls them apples.

she is also fascinated with Shoes! ha! go figure! she loves flip flops. or as she calls them : flee flots.

she can count to 13 but always skips 4. i guess she just doesnt like that number.

she can now open the fridge on her own! ha! she want to be the one who puts the milk or juice back in there.

oh, and she likes to call herself "C C"

the last few months

ah, the last few months have been extremely busy, i just dont have time to sit here and update and take my time. so, i decided i will attempt it today. i am back at work after easter and so far the day is not busy.

Lacie is just sprouting up! she is getting so tall and she is sooo SMART! you can almost carry on a short conversation with her now. she now says I LOVE YOU MOMMY (or daddy, pawpaw, etc).
she can tell you who most people are if you show her a picture. even people that she doesnt see very often, like Uncle PJ.....although she calls him TeeTay.

She loves Little Einsteins on TV. and Dora and Cars.

she still wont let me put her hair in a pony tail. hopefully she will get over it eventually. her hair is getting soooo long and i refuse to cut it. i dont like short hair on girls.

I think we are getting close to potty training..... i plan on buying some pull ups soon......we'll see how well that goes.

we, i mean, she, survived surgery

Lacie came through her surgery as good as could be. The biggest thing was coming off the anesthesia and she had lots of blood coming out of her nose. but once we got home , she took a long nap and was fine after that.

WELL, THAT IS ALL I CAN THINK OF AT THE MOMENT, BUT UNTIL ABOUT 22 MONTHS, SHE WASNT SAYING MUCH AND SINCE THANKSGIVING, SHE HAS SAID A LOT MORE.

Lacie is having surgery on January 16, 2009

I forgot to mention that Lacie will be having surgery . Next Friday she is going to be getting a second set of tubes in her ears and having her adenoids removed. This should clear up the new ear infections and our awesome ENT Dr. Ryan Boone says that adenoid removal will help the congestion tremedously! so lets cross our fingers. He says that it will be an 8 minute surgery so she will be under general anesthesia for about 15 minutes tops.
I am taking her for her bloodwork on Friday and then a physical next Thursday.
so everyone cross your fingers that it all goes well.

Merry Christmas! 2 weeks late!

Merry Christmas to ALL! we had a very nice christmas this year. Lacie was all about opening her gifts! her favorite thing was that new bike! and all her Hello Kitty stuff. this pic is after she opened all her gifts and was testing out her bike.

Snow in Louisiana, on December 12th-ish and 80 degrees on the 27th

well, i am not very good at updating this, sorry, like said before, being a full time working mom of 2, its hard. but, i am off work for a GLORIOUS 12 days! so i have sme catching up to do.

as i write this, it is 11pm on the 27th, Lacie's 2nd birthday is less than an hour away!

we had her party at ChuckECheese today. pics will come soon.

She is sick....

well, i guess it was inevitable, she would eventually get sick. she has been well for a really longtime, almost a year! since her tubes in her ears, she has not gotten an infection or anything ill related. a little fever with teething but thats it. well, we got inside from Trick or Treating and i discovered she was running a 100 degree fever. my poor baby! she wouldnt eat supper and did not eat a single bite all saturday. she was cranky on sunday so i broke down and took her to After Hours. she has chest congestion, runny nose, major sore throat and red ears! acute Pharyngitis and ear infections.
she is on Augmenten so that will knock it out really quickly. thankfully i caught it before it could get worse.

i know, its been a while!

yes, i know, i have completely slacked on my motherly duties of keeping up with Lacie's job. for those of you with 2 little kids, a full time job and a husband who worships the XBOX 360, you understand, for the rest of you, well, too bad. :-)

Lacie is quite the entertainment these days. She speaks jibber jabber all of the time but her favorite word is SHOES. shoes are her favorite thing.

oh, and BALL, she thinks any and every thing is a ball. Pumpkins! she was playing at paw paws house and decided to pick up the little pumpkin and yell, "BALL" and then threw it down on the ground. pictures to follow, soon, i hope!

well, it is time for me to go home so i will try to update again super soon!

what;s new pussycat, whoa a oh.

ah well, it has been a while since i wrote in here, i am a slacker. yet i always find time to read all my favorite blogs, www.mattlogelin.com is my favorite.

Lacie is doing well, nothing new to report, the doctor seems to think she should be saying more words, she speaks a lot of gibberish. and can say NO very clearly and she points that finger! hahaha! funny stuff.

she is still taking a bottle of milk at night. i am not really worried right now, hopefully she will get rid of it before kindergarten.

she got bit AGAIN by one of her friends at daycare, and this time it was on her stomach! how the hell do you bit on the stomach is beyond me, but it was a good chomp and broke the skin, they are moving the biter out of her class since for some reason Lacie seems to be a good target, or maybe she tastes so sweet! i joked to the daycare people that i was going to bathe her in tobasco and that would keep the biters away.

the other day at target she picked out the most random black and white stuffed cat that looks like Felix from the comics, she lugs him all over. i'll post a pic later.

she has also been going through a sleep every other night thing that has gotten old quickly!

Her big brother is back home and he started shool today! 2nd grade! she loves her big brother and they have been acing up and down the house with their carts all night!

well, that about does it for me tonight, i am ready for bed!

Crap, Lacie wants a Kitty, of all things, we don't need pets.

For the love of God, we do not need pets. Pets and little kids do not mix. Lacie's new word is CAT. she loves cats, which i guess is better than dogs, cuz i can't stand dogs.

Anyways, last weekend we went to Uncle Terry's house to find out that they have 2 kittens in their shed. Lacie Loves then as you can see in the below pictures.........

Dear Lacie, PLEASE SLEEP ALL NIGHT

mommy is about to lose her mind.
Lacie has been sleeping all night for months.
until the past 2 nights.
i really miss my bed, and the couch is too hot to sleep on all night.
Last night I did the best I could to keep her awake but she went to sleep before 7.
she could not keep her eyes open. she took a long bath and played but the minute i had her dressed, she zonked out. which was good cuz when she was awake, she was a screaming, crying, whiney mess. NOTHING made her happy.
except sleep.
so, of course, she wakes up at 12:30 last night, bright eyed and bushy tailed, and i had just gone to bed 2 hours before.
so we went to play in the living room until she decided to fall asleep at about 3:30.
she fell asleep on her pillow and blanket on the floor in the living room, so i decided to leave her there and camp out on the couch. it was too hot, Microsuede is very hot to sleep on. i had the fan and A/C going, but not good enough. i got some broken sleep and then of course, Lacie woke up at 6am. BOOOO, i wanted to sleep more, even though i would be late for work. What good am I at work if I am a zombie.
I pray that tonight is better. Thank God for the weekend
